I used to be a member of this gym when they first opened in the mid-90’s, then moved and only re-joined about 3 years ago, after really liking the renovated and more modern-looking space and facilities. It’s a large space reserved mostly for the basketball and volleyball court, so the weight and cardio spaces aren’t as large as they could be (if they’d only extend the floors further out towards the edge of the court then we could gain more space!), meaning that there’s some equipment (or duplicates of some machines) that could and should be there but aren’t. That being said, despite its prime Ramblas location, it never gets too crowded (with the usual pre-dinner time the busiest, around 7-9pm), so I can usually get a good workout in without having to fight/wait too long for any machines or weights. My biggest complaint is that they now close an hour earlier than before (10pm instead of 11pm on weekdays). During the pandemic I get it was necessary, but now I really am not happy about this as I would often need to go in later until the 11pm closing time and this earlier hour really screws with my day.😤🤬 Anyway, it’s not perfect, but it’s a 7-minute walk from home and it’s reasonably priced, so I gladly accept its shortcomings, though I Really hope they give us back that last hour in the day.🤨
